Trimmed Curtains

I remember having my own room growing up. There were things that seemed great about it, but most nights when it came time to shut my eyes, I wanted my sister near. Jenny and I often bunked together, with darkness, company felt necessary.

I have recently had several clients ask me to help transition their homes from having two separate “kid bedrooms” to only one, and thus leaving an extra room for a guest bedroom, playroom, office, etc. In fact, I have recently made this change in my own home. Jack and Joey share a room, and they wouldn’t want it any other way!

Something in my heart longs for symmetry at all times! It’s difficult for me to haphazardly throw a blanket at the end of a bed, or just toss an assortment of throw pillows on a bed…I like symmetry. My heart and brain desire that center, that organization. Phew…it feels good getting that off my chest. My name is Kim, and I am addicted to symmetry. That being said, putting two twin beds next to each other is heavenly. Two matching beds, two matching duvets, two matching shams, two matching pieces of art..all split by one dresser. And so, I am loving the way these idea boards are coming to life. Three cheers for symmetry! Hoping to have “after” pictures before the holidays!

The last picture on this post, is Jack and Joey’s room. For some reason, I failed to actually take a picture of both beds, but on the other side of that dresser, is the same exact bed (except the frame is painted gray, and the stool to crawl into bed is green)…is the therapy is working, I’m becoming more flexible ??
