My passion for design dates back to my days as an interior designer in the “hot” Las Vegas market in early 2000. As I traveled through different careers, I find myself in my third chapter of life — back to what I really love, interior design. When it comes to my personal style, I realize I have always been into fashion. I look at the trends but always focus on the ones that have longevity — the ones that are not necessarily over the top expensive but are always in style. This love of fashion helps explain my passion for interior design and my clients will reap the benefits of spaces that are considered always in fashion. Finally, I am a passionate, kind and loving person who is a solid business leader and a proud mother of two amazing children — both who inspire me each and every day. That special background gave me an appreciation for hard work and a respect for the contractors and subcontractors who are so instrumental in the knowledge and craftsmanship required for completion of a truly unique design vision. I know that mutual respect on a project results in a superior experience for each client. I was the owner of Carol’s Design House (now The Design House, Inc.) from 1990 through 2016. Those years include a broad array of commercial and residential projects with clients from all parts of the country. While specializing in construction and remodeling projects, I can assist clients with the simplest or the most complex requests. I pride myself on only one interior design specialty — getting the client successfully through the process. Knowledge of products, implementation tools and opportunities for solutions is an obvious requirement for any interior design professional, but the ability to understand and communicate with clients and other project professionals is ultimately what gets any project to completion. I’m married to Bill Whitacre and we both enjoy almost everything outdoors. We are avid adventure sports enthusiasts and find any opportunity to be outside, particularly in the McCall area at our home. My love for my Australian Shepherd dogs is paramount. A day outside with Bill and my fur-kids is the very best day. Education I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. After a few years, I left public accounting and went to work for a national real estate development and construction company located in Boise, Idaho and Newport Beach, CA. In 1990, I purchased Carol’s Design House and brought together my diverse backgrounds.
