Specs Design Group was tasked with the transformation of a centennial old building into a millennial attracting haven for the operations team of MGM Springfield. We gutted the entire 11 story building upgraded all the building systems, electrical, HVAC and fire suppression – and then went to work on the interior. Bringing in bright pops of color in unexpected locations, for example – green on the exposed ceilings, and large colorful flooring patterns. All to invoke energy and excitement within the 8 floors of these Administrative offices. Custom graphics occur in key locations to reinforce the company’s culture of teamwork and customer satisfaction. MGM wanted their interior to reinforce collaboration and inclusion – so we eliminated most walls and lowered workstation panels so staff could see one another. We incorporated informal meeting zones that included technology and furnishings that allow for the option of a group gathering or an individual work area. Variety and flexibility are a common theme throughout the space. An abundance of natural light add to the openness of each of the floors.
