A Grand Historic Residence in Summit NJ was totally transformed into a fresh traditional setting congruent with the style of the home. Ms. Alston mixed different styles and periods of furniture to create a gathered look vs newly acquired. Some of the challenges were to take a large space and make them look inviting. This was a total house renovation. There is an art to making one room flow into the other so that the look is consistent yet different, Many custom features were designed for this home including restoration of original architectural elements. Antiques for this home were sourced from England, California, New York, Connecticut and New Orleans. Ms. Alston received a coveted ASID Design Excellence Award for this project and it was featured in Design NJ
