Winner ASID Design Excellence Gold Award 2011 / Single Space – Residential (Bed Room)

A pair of empty-nesters hired the designers to update their home after the last of their four children moved-out. They had been living in a house that hadn’t been touched since its construction in the mid-80s. The first project they wanted to tackle was their Master Bed Room by creating a comfortable, relaxing retreat. The challenge was to incorporate the existing architecture and materials into a fresh, updated design. The givens were heart pine floors and exposed beams, a rustic stone fireplace and amazing woodland views. The designers also had the client’s extensive art and accessory collection at their disposal.
