Cornish College of the Arts was underserved by their current student housing and sought to add a multi-use building in a central location where students could live, work, and play. The idea behind the tower was to create an iconic symbol for Cornish that conveyed the idealism of artistic craft. This was achieved by using an aluminum panel system that is broken up into two-foot and four-foot panels. These panels have their own distinct color and finish, creating a custom pattern of solids and voids. The metal panels mimic the flow of modern dance and the concept of sheet music.

The interior design pays special attention to the geometry and color of the façade, incorporating those elements into the rhythm of the internal textures. Grey, geometric textiles line the floor of the main floor and timeless northwest materials constitute the surrounding walls. The second floor contributes four large movement theatre studios to the environment, each embellished with sprung floors, ballet rods, and mirrors.

Floors 3-19 contain student rooms, which are designed to be easily customizable by residents. Each floor utilizes one recurring color, which then alternates from floor to floor and make halls easy to identify. Creative wall spaces, such as marker walls and pin-up boards, let students invent an original identity for each hall.

The 20th floor features an exclusive, student-only sky lounge. This area features a full community kitchen, TV lounge, gaming area, outdoor amenity deck, fitness center, multimedia art room, and musical practice rooms. Stunning panoramic views of the city make this a truly unique student housing experience.
