A home like this is a great reminder that great things can, and do, come in small packages. This jewel box spans two buildings less than 1,000 square feet each. The goal was to restore and preserve one of Hope Ranch’s original properties to its previous historic glory. With the help of a creative design team, this mission was accomplished. Knob and tube electrical was replaced with a new energy efficient lighting and electrical plan. The gravity heating system was replaced with a high-efficiency forced air system. A flash hot water heater replaced an old electric unit, and all walls, ceilings, and floors were fully insulated to maximize the building’s efficiency. Hardwood floors were preserved and refinished. New tile was made to match the old to preserve authenticity, and a fresh, low VOC paint with period appropriate palate put the finishing touches on this spectacular property.
