This new construction had two program elements: an exercise room and a community space. These elements and simplicity were the driving forces behind the design for the apartment complex amenity building.
The amenity building was located next to the pool, so the space opens figuratively and physically to water. This idea started to dialog between the exterior and interior spaces and how they can effectively blend together as the doors open and more residents utility the space.
Two like volumes form a small entry into the shared service spaces joining the community room and exercise space together. The glass wall features fold-up garage doors to engage the exterior spaces for larger functions. The CMU walls limit visibility around the rest of the building so occupants enjoy privacy, both from the parking area behind but also from the sun above.
