Sometimes, clients want a “clean slate”, with completely new furniture to reflect their style: this was the case with one client who had outgrown her current design and wished to combine designer and retail furnishings that would result in a showplace for entertaining family and friends. The next set of clients preferred an upscale, traditional look; the selection of rich velvets, marble, alabaster, and gold leaf furnishings mirrored their classic style in a project that we worked on in stages over the course of several years. Another client wanted a functional yet attractive retreat that echoed her simple lifestyle, so we designed a new kitchen, renovated all bathrooms, and installed new wood and tile floors with granite counters in the baths and kitchen. A palette of feminine colors completed the design, harmonizing with this client’s soft personality.
