Challenge

The homeowners wanted to update their flooring and brighten up their lovely room. The carpet was original to the house and was from the 1960’s. They wanted their flooring to be durable and sustainable.

Response

Beautiful Rose Teak FSC certified wood floors were installed in the main living area. The entry way was done in slate with a low toxic sealer. The slate contains the lovely blues, browns and sand colors present throughout the living room. On the stairs and the upper hallway, a durable and very new 100% wool carpet with wool padding was installed. A golden sand color (zero VOC paint) was applied to the walls. The paneled wall behind the fireplace was painted to really brighten up the space and make the fireplace standout. A 100% wool area rug livens up the room and pulls all the colors together. Finally,a new bookcase and side table complete the look. The space is now bright, fresh and open.
