working with local newburyport architect leah mcgavern, the back of this modest home was transformed into an open, modern, yet warm series of spaces. the dramatic stone backsplash is the highlight of the kitchen, with deep gray cabinets, rich cherry accents and clean stainless fixtures and appliances. the rhythm created with the cherry wood openings to the stair hall and family room tie the rooms together. the colors selected in each room give individual character and balance to these inviting spaces.
