Rustic Colorful Kitchen
Upstate New York kitchen with a colorful Mexican flare. The challenge was integrating the clients love for Mexican interiors with her current eclectic colonial space, without making it appear disjointed.
Soapstone counter tops and a handmade copper farm sink add to the rustic feel of the kitchen. Pulling in a specialty cabinet in distressed oak, painted blue adds some fun color. The large iron corbels coordinate with the iron hardware used on the cabinetry. A new banquet, zinc topped table and a wood chandelier are finishing touches.
As you enter the house there are custom distressed wood doors found at a local salvage yard with large iron rings that hide the coats and boots. The addition of talevera tile on the stair risers along with iron railings lead you into the new kitchen where you will find additional talevera as an accent behind the range surrounded by handmade spanish subway tile.
