Residence Eclectic Living room remodel Interior Design

Our clients had just moved back to the U. S. after living overseas and, essentially, had a blank canvas to work with. They wanted the living room to be warm and inviting and to be able to showcase their extensive art and collectibles from around the world. They have a large family and needed the space to have plenty of seating for entertaining.
The room is very long so the key for this project was creating two distinct seating areas that would allow for flexibility and comfort. The lounging area has a large sectional with plenty of space to spread out or curl up for a movie. Two club chairs provide seating closer to the fireplace and the nesting coffee tables have room for books or drinks.
At the other end of the room is a smaller conversation area. We took the clients’ existing church pew bench and had it repainted and added custom cushions to make a cozy tucked away spot to talk by the windows and enjoy the view onto the covered back porch and lush landscaping. The drum tables from Four Hands in front of the bench can be used to set down a glass and can be easily moved to other parts of the room for extra seating. Bronze curtain rods tie in with the antiqued bronze glass blown lanterns. We unified the entire space with pinch pleated drapery panels using Thibaut fabric in Sunburst, which finishes the room and keeps it from being choppy.
