This was an historic building which was originally the hotel for the Pine Needles Resort. Later, it was utilized as a hospital, orphanage, etc. As a hotel, it hosted great entertainers such as Tommy Dorsey. After many years of abandonment, the building was purchased by St. Joseph of the Pines with the intent to refurbish it into an independent living facility to include 24 apartments and a variety of public areas for residents. Village Design Group worked closely with the construction team and provided all decor, furnishings, carpet, flooring, lighting, artwork and selections for the apartments and social areas including a: chapel, game room, library, pub/bar, waiting area, piano lounge, conference room, reception area, dining room, restrooms, etc. Total project took 2 years to complete.
