This comfortable and timeless home-away-from-home was created for a young, stylish couple. We collaborated with them to ensure that we incorporated their own timeless pieces with new modern ones. The result was a new traditional home with a twist. In this instance, the home was purchased with plans to renovate the small kitchen as entertaining was a key element for this husband and wife. We teamed with a local builder using Amish craftsmen to create custom cabinets, and implement our design for a beautiful and functioning kitchen. Adding a window seat and table off the island worked well for both intimate gatherings and hosting large parties. We opened up the wall between the dining room and living room to create a larger space for wining and dining. By using classic stripes and textures we created wall finishes with a modern edge in the foyer and guest lounge. We enjoyed exploring what was important for them in their home and we produced a place that was simply them – luxury and comfort.
