A young family had purchased this home and wanted to realize the potential of the great corner lot. After our first meeting, I suggested we gut the entire house in order to move room locations to allow for great entertaining and open style living.
My clients love to cook and as their friends are always in the kitchen with them at dinner parties, it was key to have a very large island. We gutted out a back patio space and broke through the house wall to be able to relocate the kitchen and make it much larger. We were also able to add more windows which made the whole main floor living space feel light and airy. The floors were not salvageable, so we chose a rich dark hardwood to showcase all the white woodwork.
