The clients… collectors of fine art, consummate hosts and world travelers. Their primary residence… a celebration of their family, friends, travels and collections. At our first meeting, the wife gave me a copy of a magazine image featuring a whimsical display of shells, stones, sea coral and metal, all in the warm colors of the sea. She said, “This is the feeling that I want to create in my home.”

It would have been easy to translate this image exactly when creating the design concept. Instead, I strived for a subtle interpretation. The client and I engaged in a collaborative design process which resulted in blending natural textures with menswear patterns, contrasting wood tones, mixed media, eclectic furniture styles and an elegant color palette.

The design became the perfect backdrop for the clients’ exclusive art collection. And my design intention was fulfilled – each room is artistically characterized to tell a story of the clients’ passions and lifestyle.
