This living room is used by a couple that has never redone a room all at once. The project was started because their kids have grown and moved away, and they needed to replace the sofa with a sleep sofa for the grandkids. The wife was also very concerned with making the room a destination in itself. She said that everyone just walks by, so we wanted to make it a place to go to, even though the TV is in a different room.
The couple has collected many sentimental keepsakes and art pieces over the years, and wanted a room that would showcase the pieces better. Our focus in this room was the Japanese sideboard, Japanese lamp, and the colors of a tiny bowl kept in the room.
