With a penchant for all things Japanese and a very unique tri-plex brownstone near the Park, this successful bachelorette was looking to create a special, multi-functional home. In her recessed dining area, I designed tables and wall-mounted seating that all convert from traditional seating to Asian seating on the floor and everything was handmade by Japanese craftsmen without modern tools or nails. All the other rooms feature bespoke pieces like illuminated display shelves, decoupaged side tables, custom table lamps, and artwork hand-painted right on to the exposed brick walls. Custom pillows and cushions throughout add texture and were created using vintage Asian textiles and obis. With a busy schedule, the owner is glad that the media room was set up to function as both a guest bedroom and a flexible workspace for at-home meetings.
