Inspired by the ancient Roman baths, this project expanded a residential structure in Bergamo, Italy into an existing 450-year-old stone courtyard.

Three plunge pools of differing temperatures create the focal point of the luxurious addition. A glamorous vanity, walk-in master closet, private lavatory, and wet room containing a sunken whirlpool tub and shower serve as its functional areas.

A full wall of glass panels tucks seamlessly away for a truly indoor/outdoor bathing experience. One can step directly from a dip in the pool into the shower. A breakfast area, sunning deck, and covered lounge with a wood-burning fireplace offer perfect outdoor entertaining spaces that complete this transformation of a vacant stone courtyard into a tranquil oasis.
