Midwood Residence
Executing the client’s demand for a new home that felt as if a British 1920’s construction was given an uplift in the 1970’s, this single-family home was conceived as an eclectic layering of turn-of-the-century details and the seventies’ fascination with texture, color and pattern. The 1067m sq., three-story structure sits on a lot of 1219m sq. and houses a family of six with staff of three. The overlay of patterns, textures and finishes presented a particular logistical question and thus, a large amount of the design team’s time was spent on sourcing, orders and coordination of material deliveries to different workrooms in the tristate area of the US.
