This fantastic, whirl-wind project for Air Bnb was a playful nod to what Dallas natives look forward to every year– The State Fair of Texas. Since this space is for traveling visitors, I wanted to share the Fair with everyone all year!
This apartment was completed in two weeks and promptly snatched up by local media, being covered by the Dallas Morning News and a Dallas radio station. I am not surprised that everyone loves the fair as much as I do!
The best part of this project was that I actually got to use authentic artifacts from the State Fair of Texas. They generously shared old ribbons for the ribbon walls and dining room. Red and turquoise give this brand new space a carnival-like fun, and authentic artifacts from other Amusement parks line the walls. The Roller Coaster sign, cotton candy sign and grab bag barrel are all from true parks! No detail was overlooked. Tickets line the wall in the bedroom and real fair candy is left for guests to munch on.
This project was so much fun and brought out the kid in me! Anyone want a corny dog?
