Central to the design of this contemporary home was the seamless unification of interior spaces to the incredible beachfront views. Completely remodeled after the devastation of Ike, this vacation home called for truly comfortable and durable furnishings meant to be wipe-able and water friendly. The design team was involved in all aspects of architectural detailing, space planning, finish selection, and custom furniture design. A refined color palate and natural textures enhance details such as whitewashed beams, sandblasted passage doors with glass inserts, split-face stone fireplace and striking granite. All cabinets were stained with a unique yellow wax wash to create a light, smooth effect. The well thought out floor plan accommodates ten overnight guests with multi-purpose spaces that double as sleeping areas. The ocean views are visible from any seat inside the house, as most chairs swivel, or, on the large exterior patios offering 18 additional seats. The exterior furniture uses no cushions and stacks for quick storm storage.
