This project was designed for my senior capstone. It is a concept for a wellness center located in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston, TX. The wellness center is titled Salus, it encompasses all aspects of a healthy lifestyle, including a restaurant + bar, fitness club, spa, retail store & hotel. The design and branding draws inspiration for ancient wellness traditions from Scandinavian, Greek, Roman, Middle Eastern and Asian cultures. Salus is a brand that consists of five branches feeding off the “restoration to health” concept. These branches are Nourish, Strengthen, Rejuvenate, Polish & Rest. Nourish, the bar and restaurant; Strengthen, the fitness center; Rejuvenate & Polish, the spa and beauty salons; Rest, the hotel and rooftop lounge. The design is simple and can be seen throughout Salus – warm woods, natural stone and dramatic but simple lighting, as well as the color purple. The Salus logo is a zen circle, so for branding within the design, circles can be seen subtly throughout the interiors. This project was created in Revit and edited in Photoshop.
