Clarksville Residence

This Clarksville gem is a place of contradiction. It’s an historic home that was renovated to feel contemporary. It’s a mashup of high and low, warm and cold, stark and colorful. The owners brought us in with the objective of creating an interior space that complemented the modern architecture and yet felt at once unexpected and down to earth.

We worked with the owners over a period of years to get every part dialed in and realized – from the interior detail drawings to the art on the walls. For the furnishings, we brought in an eclectic mix of the family’s own heirlooms, items salvaged from the original home, and our own finds. We brought new life to well-loved pieces and integrated items found on the owners’ travels (like the 100-year-old Delft tiles in the powder room). The home is expansive, and so we worked to create spaces that felt intimate and sweet.

It may be a home of opposites, but we happen to think it’s a use case in opposites attracting.
