Southwest Chic Family Room
For this project the goal was to create a cozy family room for my client and her extended family to relax in. She wanted it to feel sophisticated and put together, but not overly formal. The only thing she for sure wanted to re-use was her sectional, but other than that she was open to anything and loves mixing patterns and colors, which is always something I love to hear. After talking with her I found out that travel is important to her and her husband, and they have a collection of amazing photos that they have taken during their travels, including some that were taken on a trip to the Grand Canyon. We picked one of her favorites and had it blown up on canvas to create custom art and then used the colors and style of that piece as inspiration for the rest of the room.
Little by little we plugged away by having the room painted in a fresh grey-green, adding in custom chairs from Ethan Allen, a beautiful bound carpet from LP Mooradian, incredible custom draperies from R&R Draperies and a whole bunch of other odds and ends to make the room feel collected, personal and just plain fun.
Project Cost: USD 5,001 – USD 7,500
