As the daughter of an interior designer, throughout my childhood I grudgingly tagged along to design centers, antique shops and showrooms. When my husband and I purchased our first home, I was overwhelmed. Then as a I cautiously set out to make this new house our home, all of the education I received from my mother came flooding forward. Even more surprising, I found that I now loved design centers, choosing furniture, remodeling and accessorizing.
