We collect mementoes from trips, cherish family treasures, and live with furniture and art that make us feel comfortable. And the truth is — you can have it all in your home and have a home that is harmoniously designed and can include the latest energy saving features, high tech electronics, or the simple pleasure of a comfortable back porch that gives you a private view. As long as your home has a solid structure, what I like to call bones, you can transform your space with color or accessories or remodel an area from the ground up to finally give you the space or maybe just the private view you’ve always dreamed of having. I’m Maureen McGough and I have spent the past 15 years specializing in both residential and commercial design. I believe that the space where you live and work should be beautiful and comfortable to you. My designs always begin with something my client already has. It may be a rug, a piece of art, or even an architectural element. I then create symmetry with repeating shapes, motifs, and bold accent colors and add a mixture of materials and textures. This integration of materials plays off each client’s special furnishings.
