Lucas Design Associates was founded in 2012 by siblings David, Suzie and Rachel Lucas, after a decade of cooperative work in interior architecture and design. This award-winning family firm combines their complimentary skills and passions, driven by David’s knowledge of interior architecture and detailing, Suzie’s strength in working with innovative and elegant materials and furniture, and Rachel’s creatively-rooted business acumen. Having moved from New York City to Seattle, they find inspiration and satisfaction in blending the sophisticated layers of an urban landscape, industrial aesthetics, and the enduring high-quality craftsmanship of the Pacific Northwest artisan community. They share a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the West Coast and a strong connection to the simplicity and harmony found in Japanese, Scandinavian, and primitive interior architecture. This, combined with an eye for interesting composition and texture, lends their work a distinct and exciting sense of innovation, rooted in classic design.
