chematic Design and Design Development This process starts by listening to a client’s needs, design vision, budget and time schedule. Function and usage for each space is established and an inventory of existing furniture/and furnishings are noted and documented. A concept to meet your unique needs is then designed and developed. Sketches, Visuals and Physical Product Samples Throughout the design process, I will provide clients with a variety of sample materials and references to articulate specific details and clarify both the vision and intention of a particular idea or design direction. Using photographs of existing spaces, and vellum overlays, I illustrate multiple ideas for review and discussion. These illustrations help with the visualization of a concept and provide the opportunity to fine-tune details for confident decision making. Room Measurement and Documentation Each room is measured and documented for reference, material and labor estimates and furniture layouts. Floor Plans, Furniture Layout and Selection Using the measurements noted in the room documentation, multiple floor plans are developed for the client to consider how a space can be defined with a variety of furniture pieces, configurations and vantage points. Wall, Ceiling and Trim Palettes, Faux Finishes Each surface in your home will be carefully considered for its aesthetic qualities, finish and coloration. When the time arrives to specify paint colors and decorative finishes for walls and floors, each and every surface will be considered for its contribution to the overall color palette. Painted surfaces will be chosen to complement and harmonize all selections throughout your home and will provide seamless room transitions. Material Specification (Flooring, Tile, Trim, Cabinetry, Backplashes and Counter Surfaces) Scale, design, finish, usage and application are taken into careful consideration when materials are selected to ensure that the right product will serve its purpose successfully and with longevity. Lighting Selection, Design and Placement To create a pleasing environment, all types of lighting will be utilized. Ambient, task and accent lights are all necessary to successfully combine function with the proper illumination. Style, scale, finish, installation specifications and light qualities are all taken into account when making these choices. Faucet and Fixture Selection Style, finish, usage and application are taken into careful consideration when materials are selected to ensure that the right product will serve its purpose successfully and with longevity.
