A graduate of the prestigious New York School for Interior Design,? Julie brings ???a world of experience to every client collaboration. Interior design has always been a lifelong passion, beginning with the homes and apartments she's lived in from San Diego to Florida and on to her home in New York City. ? Color ??and its uses to create mood and harmony are hallmarks of her style, a passion from her years in clothing design. Prior to working in design, she had?? a successful career as a buyer of fashion merchandise for national department and specialty store chains. Her years in the retail business, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Business give her an excellent understanding of real life business decisions that must be made every day. ? Julie has also chosen to use her gifts to give back to her community. As a breast cancer survivor, she worked in both 2010 and 2011 as Project Manager at Holiday House, the holiday-themed designer show house in New York City, benefiting the Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer research. While there she collaborated with many of New York's most talented top designers. ? Julie has a one-of-a-kind expertise, combining her interior design experience and business acumen with her training in the eastern art of Feng Shui. She is certified in Contemporary Classical methodology, as taught by Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design, a Gold Medal Program approved by the International Feng Shui Guild (IFSG). Her holistic approach will allow you to adjust your surroundings to stimulate your life. This process allows her to help clients realize their life visions and to create spaces that enhance THESE dreams. ?She would be honored to help you realize your dreams. Julie Schuster is an active member of the New York City Design Community. In 2014 she helped establish the Interior Design Society's (IDS) New York City Chapter, spearheading the group's formation as the chapter's President. Julie also works closely, and engages enthusiastically as a member of International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) and National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA). A generous designer dedicating her talents and creativity to industry wide charity fundraisers. Participating in DIFFA's annual "Picnic By Design" event to raise funds and awareness for this reputable charity. Honored by the invitation to be a featured designer for two consecutive years, Julie designed the vignettes "Foyer in Bloom" and "Start Your Day With Glamour" for Housing Works' "Design on a Dime." Uniting the New York Design community with Housing Works for a common goal of providing support to those afflicted with HIV/Aids. Once again Julie stretched her creative talents contributing to the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House designing a themed "Garden of Eden" tablescape in hopes to collect funds for their cause. Julie's latest and on-going charitable venture aligns itself with IDS Impacts (#IDSImpacts) initiative. Julie launched the New York IDS Chapter partnership with the local branch of Make A Wish foundation.
