After nearly a decade spent working for New York City law firms it was time to exercise the “right side” of the brain. I left my career as a corporate lawyer in 2003 and searched for a transition into the design world. Decorating for family and friends led to a position at an architectural firm in new york city. It was at studioMDA that I first had the opportunity to work alongside prominent architects and decorators from around the globe. Since the inception of Grommets, I have worked with clients on several ground up constructions- working jointly with architects and contractors from the initial drawings, through the months of construction, and finally to furnishing these homes. Today Grommets is an amalgamation of all that intrigues me – unearthing antiques, recycling tired pieces, searching for new design darlings and finding that “perfect something” that will pull together a living room that includes a grandmother’s heirlooms, a husband’s trophies, is dog and child friendly, all the while being warm and inviting and just the right amount of cutting edge
