Candice Truempert-Lee was born in Spain and educated in London, England and Aix-en-Provence, France. During her 14 years in London, she has worked in the Harrod's Interior Design department, then as a package manager for all blockwork, marble and granite for a Class A office building development in the heart of London where she learnt all about marble and granite, going directly to the mines in Spain and Italy to select the products herself. Following this, she spent two years working for the five star hotel company, Rocco Forte Hotels - a member of Leading Hotels of the World - where she was trained by Olga Polizzi the Design Director and part owner of the hotel chain. In 2005 she moved to San Diego, CA. There, she continued to pursue her career in hospitality design, where projects included new Starwood properties in Mammoth and Copper Mountain, refurbishments of hotels in La Jolla, new and refurbished casinos in the U.S., a Hardrock hotel & casino in Macau, China and finally designing interiors for a 100,000 sq ft Saudi Palace in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, before starting her own company. She has the unique perspective of having worked both directly for a five star hotel company, designing interiors and styling for photoshoots for hotels all over Europe as well as working on the design studio side, which helps in understanding both how a property functions and what clients want. As a keen traveler who has been all over the world, she is very much inspired by other cultures, places and eras and often likes to reference these in her work, mixing both modern and vintage pieces to create a personalized layered look that gives the space a sense of meaning.
