“Decorating is a fun process we take very seriously,” says Carmiña Roth of her interiors firm’s unofficial motto. The group’s small size ensures Roth’s close involvement through all stages of the design process. With Roth’s attentive ear, keen eye and appreciation for myriad styles and periods, each project becomes a personal statement of the client and family, a journey that creates a home not only unique but location specific, honoring the architecture of a historic property or creating character out of an empty shell. Based in Greenwich, CT, Roth insists on an organized approach to support and clarify the aesthetic process. Clients praise her high level of service, not to mention meticulous spreadsheets, both holdovers from her days in financial client services. Born in Puerto Rico, the native Spanish speaker grew up in Charlotte, NC. She studied architecture and art history in France and Italy, and received a law degree from Yale, where she focused on the burgeoning field of Art Law. She also pursued classes in architecture and interned at the Museum of Modern Art. Roth had a decade-long career in finance in New York City, while channeling her creativity renovating NYC apartments and homes in the Hamptons and taking classes at the New York School of Interior Design before she established her own firm. Now entering its tenth year, Carmiña Roth Interiors has a roster of clients, many of them repeat ones, throughout New England, New York City and abroad. She relishes her Greenwich location for the quality of life it affords her family, the proximity to beautiful homes throughout the Tri-State area, and to New York’s galleries and showrooms. Whether she’s encouraging clients to push boundaries, or knowing when to reign it all in, Roth sees her relationships with clients and their homes as constantly on-going, even when a project is technically finished. She is as well versed in fine antiques as she is interested in discovering emerging artists, and knowing how to layer it all together, an approach that has garnered the interest of publications that have featured her firm’s work, including Luxe, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, Greenwich Magazine and atHome Magazine.
