From as early as I can remember, I loved all things décor. I grew up in a home where Danish mid century ruled supreme, and as a child I was obsessed. I lived for polishing the teak Hans Wegner nesting tables in my parents’ living room. I spent hours arranging and rearranging the small abstract statuettes that mingled with the books on our bookshelves. My parents’ love of design became the basis for my own aesthetic of clean lines, subtle details and the calmness that comes with having everything in its place. Once on my own, no matter my financial situation, my home was always turned out. I DIY-ed old chairs found on the street. I rearranged my furniture constantly. I made my bed every day. I was obsessed with creating the most comfortable and stylish space possible. I moved to Los Angeles and starting apprenticing with a spectacular interior designer, whose fierce style and bold aesthetic taught me new ways to look at decor. A few years later, I became the first West Coast editor for the decor blog Apartment Therapy. There, I honed my skills for seeking out the most beautiful, the most special, and often the best priced items the design world has to offer. But New York was my home, and I missed it every day. With a job offer in hand, I moved back to the city I love. Which brings us to now. My design rules still hold true: clean lines, subtle details and the calmness that comes with having everything in its place. I work with each client to give their home an effortless style. Homes that are sophisticated and inviting. Never precious. Always relaxed. Whether it’s helping to fix a poorly laid out room, or creating a complete home makeover, I believe my true talent is in making one’s space beautiful, comfortable and a joy to come home to. Xo
