My dream has always been to be an interior designer. Starting when I was a little girl I would go to my friends houses and rearrange their furniture. Every time I entered a space I thought about what I would do differently and it filled me with a rush of excitement. I’m blessed to have had this passion from an early age and knew it was what I was meant to do. And here we are, years later, more like decades really, I am actually doing it. After getting my degree in Interior Design at Fresno State University, I started right away as the Design Consultant for McCaffrey Homes where I helped buyers design their dream homes. After 2 wonderful years in the home building scene, I got married and moved across the country and started my own interior design business, Tuft & Trim. This blog features some of my design projects, tutorials, as well as what inspires me. After decorating our home with a modest budget, I’ve learned that sometimes bringing quality into a home doesn’t require lots of money, but rather a creative and unique touch. I love showing my readers ways to achieve a beautiful home without breaking the bank. My favorite designs have a combination of both fashion and function, formal and casual, and a rustic charm mixed with romantic French elements .
