HELLO THERE I’m a connoisseur of style, design, art, and generally, all things beautiful. I have never known a life without these things. Even as a little girl, I inadvertently lived and breathed them. My childhood and teenage days were filled with flipping through home and fashion magazines and watching runway shows, not only taking in the clothing but the set and music. It was filled with handmade touches and sleepless nights of drawing, painting, sketching, and re-decorating my bedroom. Sundays were for reading the style and home sections in the newspaper and long car rides were for seeking out inspiration. After spending years thinking my life career would be a dancer/performing artist/choreographer, I decided to pursue a career in design. In 2009, I graduated from the Art Institute of Houston with a BFA in Interior Design. Thank goodness I did; I realized all those things I had inadvertently lived and breathed when I was younger were actually in line with a career that would allow me to utilize creativity in ALL forms and mediums, not just interior design. Pretty exciting stuff if you ask me! Today, as a mom, wife and a professional, it is still “these things” that fuel my soul and makes me get out of bed everyday. Well, okay. My son may have something to do with that, but you get it. A life of style and creativity is all I know; It’s the only thing that comes natural to me. It is my best friend and sometimes my worst enemy. Most of all, it’s just me. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY I truly believe style comes from within. Everyone has it; it may have to be pulled out of some people, but everyone has it. I also believe that your home is another extension of your style. And while I also agree that good design must incorporate form, beauty and function, I think good design also tells a story of who you (the client) are. It would be my job to bring out your own style and transition it into your home, from traditional to kitsch and all things in between.
