After earning a degree in music from the University of Washington in 1994 and working as a professional musician for a few years, I realized I had chosen the wrong career. I had always loved decorating, so I decided to explore a career in furniture sales and store display for Restoration Hardware. I learned a huge amount about interior design and color, and I was hooked! In 2006, I was feeling a bit restless after 3 years of being a full-time mom. My supportive husband suggested I start charging people for all the "free decorating advice" I was handing out. Brilliant! It wasn't long before I had plenty of clients, and a busy schedule. Balance is just as important to me as earning money. I take pride in being the best mother I can be while pursuing a career in a field that brings me joy. I believe that your home should be a place you're excited to come home to; a shelter from the crazy outside world. Your home can be a place that everyone in the family enjoys. I don't believe in perfection, "off-limit" rooms, or uber-formal spaces. Your home should contain colors that make you happy, fabrics that feel good on your skin, treasures from vacations and weekends away, and inherited pieces from beloved relatives. My goal is to use what you have and love, and suggest new pieces, to create a space that feels like "you".
