Perhaps it all started 30 years ago with my first conscious memory of watching “The Wizard of Oz”… That moment when Dorothy’s ordinary, dusty black and white world was reborn into something vibrant and extraordinary. I couldn’t believe that in a blink, your environment can be transformed into a world that’s new and exciting. That’s what design has become for me and with inspired design, I can create the world I wish to step into each day. I didn’t always know that I wanted to be an Interior Designer- horrors, I know. When I was a child I wanted to be a paleontologist. Dinosaurs fascinated fascinate me. Jurassic Park was is mind blowing. So while dinosaur bone hunting was not my future, I was constantly inspired by the world around me and still am. I love to get my hands dirty, but not in the way I envisioned searching for dinosaur bones. Refinishing garage sale furniture (and curb finds) or priming my walls for a colorful makeover is my high. If my willingness to roll up my sleeves, to get down and dirty for the best finds, and sense of style can take someone’s abstract dreams for their home and transform it into reality, then my career would not be work; it would be making magic. And let’s face it- life is amazing when there is a little magic. The 31 year old little voice in my head finally shouted-down to my heart and told me it was time to parlay my passion for fashion and art into a career in Interior Design. Fueled by the loving encouragement of my family and friends, I went back to school. And so, I officially became what I was born to do.
