Kevin J. Maher has provided award winning interior design for residential and hospitality projects to discerning clients for over thirty-five years. My ability to draw and sketch landed me dual-positions in 1978 as draftsman to the famous New York interior designer Bill Turner and as showroom designer/draftsman for Bernard Auffray creating custom cabinet and paneling for the venerable French furniture company - Auffray & Company. From the start "I was a custom furniture designer before I was an interior designer". I ventured out on my own in 1985 and scored the renovation of the Grand Ballroom at the Garden City Hotel "at that point I realized I had a firm". We provided custom furniture, interior and architectural designs to the hotel and their various properties for the next 10 years. Collaborations with the hotel owners at that time included "Club G" Long Island's premiere nightclub, The Societe and Cotillion Rooms, The Polo Bar and Grill, The Presidential Suite, Parlor and Guest room designs. Projects also included an Art Moderne beachfront property in Sagaponack, NY -- 20th Century Fox's first choice for the movie Wall Street.
