Julie Murphy, owner of JM Custom Design, began sewing at the age of 10, but didn’t discover the art of window treatment fabrication until her early twenties. As she earned her BA in Psychology and then her MS in Occupational Therapy, Julie would create beautiful products for mostly friends and family. While working as an Occupational Therapist, she realized that her true calling was in creating high quality soft furnishings for the home. With that, she started her current home based business, which allowed her the flexibility of raising her family while earning a living doing what she loves.
