Details - This bedroom belongs to a 11 year old girl: smart and super cute. She loves to read, explore and travel. We created a room for her filled with curiosities as if she had already traveled the world and brought home her treasures. The custom made explorer's map was created by noted muralist, Cynthia Meadows. Each destination on the map is either a favorite vacation spot or the name of a place where she loves to spend her time. There are also custom painted parrot pictures to go with her exotic theme and color scheme. The library table is filled with African masks, coral, science bottles, seashells and faux fur boxes. The bedspread is zebra stripe with a reverse pillow cover so making the bed is a breeze. The dust ruffle is open weave linen to look like the mosquito nets used in the tropics to sleep under. The turquoise zebra chair is custom made for her height and is a swivel rocker. The pouf in front is made from grey felt. The headboard is custom upholstered and studded. The nightstand is a repurposed grey metal locker with an architect's drafting lamp on top.
