Chic, timeless, classic with a modern twist – Amy Lee McArdle approaches every interior in her signature style, creating stunning spaces with an easy elegance that feels both natural and personal. She partners with each client to understand his or her individual tastes and needs and then infuses those personal touches into her designs. With an international background and deep appreciation for decorative arts, it is her passion to strike that perfect balance of special pieces that add meaning and depth to a space while uniquely complementing the client. Amy was born in New York and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She attended international schools and often traveled the world with her family, sparking a lifelong interest in different cultures and developing a sophisticated eye for design from a young age. As a child, she dreamed of becoming an architect and interior designer. Before pursuing this dream, Amy obtained a BA in political science at Wellesley College, as well as an MA in East Asian Studies at Harvard University. After several years in politics with the United Nations and Hillary Clinton, Amy returned to her initial childhood dream. She joined White Webb, an award winning interior design firm based in New York City. There she trained under Matthew White, an AD 100 designer, and Frank Webb, the modernist of the design duo. In 2014, Amy launched Amy Young Designs, her own interior decorating and events company. Her versatile design sensibility has transformed spaces ranging from Manhattan pied-à-terres, Palm Beach getaways, homes in the suburbs of New York City and beyond. She continues to be inspired internationally, often scouring Asia and Europe in addition to the U.S. for special pieces, antiques and artifacts. When she is not traveling, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons in New York and Palm Beach, Florida.
